My tumblr was about hockey. So, I’d like to take a moment to reflect about how stoked I am about the upcoming season. The trades make me giddy; its like you can see the gears starting to turn. I mean, I can’t say that I’m too overjoyed about loosing Methot, but, it’s obviously an advancement the team feels is…necessary. HOWEVER. We have Bobrovsky! One of the more exciting trades, I feel. Because, among the other issues, goaltending has not been one of CBJ’s strong suits. And, with Sanford not playing for us this season, Bobrovsky is going to make a big difference - even if it’s only to serve the purpose of making Mason step us his game (which…he really needs to do).
Now Nash just needs to decide what to do with himself.

Because hockey has everything you could ask for in a sport - skill, strategy, roughness. And, twice as much heart as any other.

Wow.
“Delay of Game” is always fun. It’s always fun to watch the mixed emotions - generally that of “what?” and “aww fuck” - on the players faces when a) a puck goes sailing over the glass, or b) someone goes through the glass. Of course, you also get those awkward instances when something stupid happens, like the electricity goes out. And then you’re stuck in the arena in the dark…just waiting for something to happen.

Natural hat trick or Gordie Howe hat trick?
Well, honestly, I think a natural hat trick generally takes more skill. But I like the ruggedness of the Gordie Howe hat trick. Nothing like a little roughness to spice up the game, isn’t that right, Shanny?

What is your opinion of Gary Bettman?
You know, I don’t always agree with him, but I’m not going to say I straight up hate the guy. He is…meh.

Who is your favorite Southeast Division team?
Eh? Again, I don’t really watch the Southeast Division. I’m going to have to go with whichever of the other Southeast teams playing Tampa Bay that night? I mean, I like Carolina, I guess.

18. What do you think of last years Stanley Cup champions?
Oh, I love the Bruins. I mean, they’re not my absolute all time favorite team ever, but they’re pretty high on the list. (CBJ, Pens…then B’s.) Sure, I would’ve preferred to have the Penguins win it again, but I was pretty excited for the Bruins.
19. Who are your all time favorite players?
Well, I do have this infatuation with Mario Lemieux. And Gordie Howe, of course. Shanny was a beast back in the day. I mean, the man has the record for the most Gordie Howe hat tricks. More than Gordie Howe actually had. Impressive. He’s the only player with over 600 goals and 2,000 PIM.

To be honest, I don’t really follow that sort of thing. It’s probably be a good idea to do so, though. Ya’ know…future of the team kind of deal…
